Aloe Vera, or Aloe Barbadensis (Barbados Aloe) has been known since the dawn of time and is recognized worldwide for its beneficial properties. Its history covers a minimum of 5000 years on 5 continents! From the Aloe family, Aloe Vera has few roots, no stems but spiky, stiff, fleshy, serrated leaves, and can measure up to 5 m high. The perennial plant is said to be succulent because it has adapted to the most arid environments, and preserves against all odds, water within it (in the form of gel).
